Kathleen M. Pawlus
Ms. Pawlus joined Tomtishen Feenstra PLLC in 2003 as a legal assistant where she specializes in commercial real estate transactions related to low-income housing tax credit matters. Her experience includes coordinating all aspects of commercial real estate closings including the review of title, survey and loan documents and documents related to low-income housing tax credits. She also assists in the closing of offerings of interests in a major syndicator’s low-income housing tax credit funds. In addition, Ms. Pawlus is responsible for the development and maintenance of the practice area’s automated document preparation system.
Ms. Pawlus graduated from Michigan State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities Pre-Law. She received a Bachelor’s of Science cum laude in Paralegal Studies from Eastern Michigan University in 1998. Upon graduation, Ms. Pawlus was employed by Ford Motor Company in the Office of the General Counsel, where she was responsible for advertising review, warranty preparation, anti-trust matters and development and maintenance of an internal website summarizing lemon laws. Ms. Pawlus later worked in the anti-trust practice group at Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn where she managed trial preparations for several matters, including several large document productions. Ms. Pawlus also has experience in general litigation matters, including medical malpractice and personal injury.
