Steven D. Feenstra

steven feenstraMr. Feenstra is a business lawyer who concentrates his practice in representing syndicators and developers of low-income housing projects and is experienced with tax and real estate aspects of such projects.

Steven D. Feenstra graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1998, and was presented with the law school’s Scholarly Writing Award upon graduation.  In the fall of 1995, Mr. Feenstra studied Dutch civil law and legal issues related to European Community integration at the University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands.  Upon law school graduation, Mr. Feenstra joined the law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, Detroit, Michigan where he practiced law in the firm’s Health Care Department.  Before practicing law, Mr. Feenstra practiced Physical Therapy for eight years.  He was a staff physical therapist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa for three years, and was Director of Physical Therapy at the Lindsborg Community Hospital, Lindsborg, Kansas for five years.  Mr. Feenstra received his undergraduate degree in biology from Dordt College, Iowa in 1983, a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa in 1986, and a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Iowa in 1991.

Mr. Feenstra is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, its Health Law and Real Estate Sections, as well as the Forum of Affordable Housing and Community Development of the American Bar Association.
